A key challenge for Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) systems is the actual integration of detail data communications, to and from disparate "3rd party" information systems. Such systems may often already be incumbent on-site when a new PSIM system is being planned, and so existing 3rd party interfacing issues have to be coped with – a potential nightmare, for the systems integrator.

The 2020 IntelliConnect modules meet this challenge head-on: each contains an intelligent, flexible Java-programmable communications processor, equipped with a vast range of long-proven industrial connection & communication protocols, courtesy of the famous NiagaraAX™ framework.

NiagaraAX takes the ultramodern approach of mapping every peripheral device in the system as an "object" in software terms: so every parameter, value, control and signal output by or required as input to those peripheral devices, is accessible through Niagara, and thus directly from the management layers of our 2020 IntelliControl Touch Control User Interface.

Like all the other elements of the 2020 system, the IntelliConnect Communications Module is delivered as a turn-key, embedded 4U rackmount module. All 2020 system modules are fully self-contained and 100% self-managing: no PCs, software installation or setup is required - each module is ready to plug-in and run, right out of the box.
